According to the Quran, people who forbid something that the Quran does not clearly forbid will incur Pity. (See 16:112-116)
Any prohibitions upheld that aren't clearly listed in the Quran are considered idolatry. (See 6:142-152)
Such prohibitions stand in for another deity or gods in addition to God. You will uphold His teachings ALONE and honour the prohibitions and commandments established by HIM ALONE if you serve God ALONE.
God made it extremely clear in the Quran what is and is not permitted in terms of meat and food. See 2:173, 5:3, 6:145 and 16:115.
He has forbidden you carrion, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and what was dedicated to other than God. But if anyone is compelled, without desiring or exceeding, he commits no sin. God is Forgiving and Merciful. (2:173)
Prohibited for you are carrion, blood, the flesh of swine, and animals dedicated to other than God; also, the flesh of animals strangled, killed violently, killed by a fall, gored to death, mangled by wild animals—except what you rescue, and animals sacrificed on altars; and the practice of drawing lots. For it is immoral. Today, those who disbelieve have despaired of your religion, so do not fear them, but fear Me. Today I have perfected your religion for you, and have completed My favor upon you, and have approved Islam as a religion for you. But whoever is compelled by hunger, with no intent of wrongdoing—God is Forgiving and Merciful. (5:3)
Say, “In what was revealed to me, I find nothing forbidden to a consumer who eats it, except carrion, or spilled blood, or the flesh of swine—because it is impure—or a sinful offering dedicated to other than God. But if someone is compelled by necessity, without being deliberate or malicious—your Lord is Forgiving and Merciful. (6:145)
He has forbidden you carrion, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and anything consecrated to other than God. But if anyone is compelled by necessity, without being deliberate or malicious, then God is Forgiving and Merciful. (16:115)
You can determine what meat is halal (lawful) and what is haram from these verses (prohibited).
Mentioning God's name in everything you eat is a very significant requirement set out by the Almighty God for His sincere followers. See 5:4, 6:118-119.
They ask you what is permitted for them. Say, “Permitted for you are all good things, including what trained dogs and falcons catch for you.” You train them according to what God has taught you. So eat from what they catch for you, and pronounce God’s name over it. And fear God. God is Swift in reckoning. (5:4)
So, eat of that over which the Name of God was pronounced, if you indeed believe in His revelations. (6:118)
And why should you not eat of that over which the Name of God is pronounced, when He has detailed for you what is prohibited for you, unless you are compelled by necessity? Many lead astray with their opinions, through lack of knowledge. Your Lord knows best the transgressors. (6:119)
As usual, God places the onus of accountability on the person in these passages. We all have a duty to mention God's name in whatever we eat, including you and me.
You'll notice that when God refers to Himself, He uses the word "EAT" rather than the word "SLAUGHTER."
He gave every sincere Muslim the duty to mention His name on their meal.
People who believe in the God of the Quran acknowledge His permission to eat what the people of the scriptures consumed, enjoy it, and recognise His benevolence.
Please verify yourselves.
